Oh yeah, miss me? ♥
Changmin nearly chokes on his cappuccino when he happens to glance up and see THE Kim-fucking-Jaejoong walking past the coffee shop's front window.
He still looks like he did from the last video. His hair is blond, cut to his jaw and peeking out from under the soft knit hat he's wearing. Those round hips and cute (flat) butt Changmin's spent many a night watching are encased in a pair of jeans that Changmin-the-broke-ass-college-student would have to give a kidney to afford. Some casual hoodie probably costing hundreds keeps his torso warm from the autumn chill and Changmin feels something close to love throb in his heart as he watches the man stroll past the front window-
-Or maybe it's just his cock twitching in his pants.
It's all of two seconds before he's shoving textbooks and writing utensils into his shoulder bag, grabbing his coffee and tearing out the front door of the cafe like the damn place is on fire. A few of the patrons murmur in curiosity but he ignores them, nearly trotting down the street to catch up to the blond. His heart is pounding and his palms are sweaty; he feels like he's spotted a celebrity and in a way he has. This man is the wallpaper on his laptop, his user icon on the chat messenger, and he's spent enough money on this man's merchandise to probably afford an extra semester of college.
Kim Jaejoong (oh shit it really is him!) stops at a street corner, digging through his bag for something and Changmin slows to a walk, the hand holding his coffee beginning to tremble as he gets closer. What is he supposed to say to him? Hey, I love your work? What if Kim Jaejoong (oh shit his lips really are that full) doesn't like being reminded of his profession? What if he hates meeting fans? Maybe the thought of someone wanking off while watching him have sex on camera disgusts him. Maybe Jaejoong is an introvert. Maybe he doesn't like being bothered.
Changmin is so busy entertaining maybe's in his head that in the end he doesn't think of anything to say at all. He comes to a stop in front of the blond, clutching his cappuccino in one hand as he stares at him dumbly. It's him. It's really him.
Kim. Mother. Fucking. Jaejoong.
The man (fucking sex god!) locates a pack of cigarettes in his bag, tucking one stick between his lips before he lifts his eyes to meet Changmin's gaze. There's a long, awkward moment as they stare at each other, Jaejoong's eyes steady while Changmin works really, really hard not to drop the coffee in his hand. Finally the blond pulls out a lighter and lights up, tucking everything back into his bag before taking a light drag and pulling the cigarette from his lips.
"Can I help you?"
And now Changmin's trying really, really hard not to moan aloud, staring at those plump, luscious lips while his ears feast on that quiet, calm voice. His voice even sounds like it does in the videos!, he thinks (and though there's no real reason for his voice to sound different, Changmin's common sense has closed up shop a long time ago).
Jaejoong continues to stare at him, and it's a long while before it dawns on Changmin that he should be responding.
"I-" It's a good start; at least his throat is making sound. Jaejoong quirks an eyebrow and says nothing, taking another drag from his cigarette before sighing out the smoke. He's waiting, patiently, and somehow that kicks Changmin's brain into gear.
"You're Kim Jaejoong," he whispers, like it's some kind of secret. Maybe it is. Maybe Kim Jaejoong doesn't like people parading out on the street, declaring him a man who takes cock up his ass on camera for a living. Maybe he prefers to live in relative anonymity, his face known to only those select perverts who enjoy man-on-man sex videos. Maybe Changmin should have left him alone. Maybe Changmin should have stayed in the coffee shop and sucked down his cappuccino and kept studying for his Calculus midterm that he's in danger of not quite passing.
But instead of anger, annoyance, or even mild irritation, Jaejoong says nothing, tapping ash off his cigarette before his lips twitch in a ghost of a smile. "That I am."
"Oh my god, you're Kim Jaejoong." It comes out sounding a bit more fanboy-ish than he intended but Jaejoong just smiles and Changmin thinks he's going to faint. He takes a deep breath, then another, pausing to sip at his rapidly-cooling coffee before he gathers his wits and tries again. "Shim Changmin," he finally blurts out, bowing to the blond and he's surprised when Jaejoong bows a bit in return.
"Kim Jaejoong," the blond murmurs, smiling at the redundancy of it. Another drag from his cigarette and Changmin sucks at his coffee, trying to calm his heart as he mulls over what to say next.
"I'm a fan," he finally whispers. Jaejoong laughs.
"Really. I would've never guessed." His tone is light, teasing, and Changmin feels his cheeks burn. He must look like an idiot in front of the other man, like some kind of crazed pervert who runs around chasing porn stars. He ducks his head, rubbing the back of his neck as he wills his pounding heart to not just pound right out of his chest onto the pavement.
"D-do you sign stuff? Can I get your signature?" He forces the words out and blushes harder (if it's humanly possible) when Jaejoong's eyebrows creep towards his hairline. Apparently that's not a common request but in the end the man smiles and holds out his hand wordlessly. Changmin digs his notebook from his bag, pulling a pen from his pocket before passing them over and watching raptly as Jaejoong scrawls out his name.
And a number.
Somehow it doesn't compute in his brain at first, the meaning behind the series of digits under the slightly messy autograph. He takes the pen and paper back, staring at the number before looking up at the blond for an explanation.
"Call me sometime," Jaejoong murmurs around his cigarette. He smiles at him, reaching out to ruffle his hair before turning and crossing the street, leaving Changmin standing on the street corner clutching his notebook like it contains the answer to life, the universe, and everything in it.
He manages to wait all of two days before calling the number Jaejoong gave him. Yoochun's always told him wait at least three days before calling (to avoid coming across as desperate) but Changmin can't quite restrain himself that long. Besides, Jaejoong's already seen him at his absolute worst anyway, as a pathetic, gawking, blushing, stammering, perverted little fan. It really can't get any worse.
His hands start shaking when he hears the line ring. It's actually a valid number!, his panicked mind screams and he realizes how absurd that sounds. He feels like a high school kid calling his crush. The butterflies in his stomach make him want to vomit from sheer nerves alone.
After the fourth ring (about when Changmin begins to entertain the notion that no one will answer) the line clicks on, Jaejoong's unmistakable voice speaking right into his ear.
"Hello," Changmin murmurs, eyes wide and sightless as he clutches his cell. "T-this... um, I don't know if you remember me, but this is Changmin... Shim Changmin-"
"'Course I remember you; kid with the coffee that chased after me." Jaejoong's voice sounds like he's smiling and Changmin makes an awkward sound of embarrassment. He hears sounds of movement over the line, sheets ruffling, someone talking to Jaejoong in the background and it dawns on Changmin that the man is not alone.
His cheeks burn. Of course the man isn't alone. Jaejoong is gorgeous. Jaejoong has a beautiful body and a beautiful face and sucks cock like a pro. He is a pro. There's no way the man is single. Embarrassment begins to claw at his throat and he almost just closes his phone. Politeness is the only thing that keeps him from hanging up.
"I-... Um, if I called at a bad time-"
"No, no, I was just laying down. It's fine." He hears the telltale click of a lighter.
"Who's there with you?"
Jaejoong laughs. "Jealous? You sound like a jealous lover, Changmin-ah." Silence and then a soft sigh. Changmin can imagine Jaejoong's lips wrapped around another cigarette, sucking in the smoke. The oddly affectionate tone in the man's voice makes him trip over his words.
"No, I didn't mean-"
"I'm just teasing you. Gosh, you're so nervous. Relax, kid. He's just a friend. We drink together sometimes."
Changmin nods a bit, regardless of the fact that the other man can't see it. "... Um, Kim-sshi-"
"Oh god, I'm not that old yet. Call me Jaejoong."
"... Jaejoong-sshi, I- um, why did you give me your number?" He cringes at the plaintive tone in his own voice, wishing he had a glass of straight vodka to calm his nerves. Maybe whiskey.
"I thought you were cute." The blond's voice sounds amused. "Don't people generally give their phone numbers to people they think are cute?" A pause; Changmin can imagine the man taking another drag from his cigarette. "What about you? Why'd you call?"
"Because I like you," he whispers. It's out before he can even think it over. He blushes hard, shifting his grip on the phone. "I-I mean-"
"I know exactly what you mean." He hears Jaejoong chuckle. At least the man is amused by him completely and utterly failing at life. "Here, let me help you out. Are you free this Friday?"
"Friday. Don't you college kids usually go out on Fridays?"
"Do you have plans?"
"... No, not yet..."
"Well, you do now."
Jaejoong sighs, his voice the epitome of patience. "I'm asking you out, Changmin-ah."
"... Oh my god."
Jaejoong bursts out into laughter. Changmin closes his eyes, taking a few slow, deep breaths to calm his pounding heart. "W-where?"
The blond names a quiet Japanese restaurant with decent sushi and a full bar. "How about 7 o'clock?"
"Okay," he whispers in response, leading to another throaty laugh from Jaejoong as the blond says his goodbyes and ends the call. He slowly closes his phone, setting it down on the computer desk before sitting back in his chair and staring at the piece of technology like it would offer up some sort of explanation as to what just happened.
Because there's no way in hell he just got asked out by Kim. Fucking. Jaejoong.
It dawns on him that Friday is only two days away. Sheer nerves make him study like a motherfucker.
He passes his Calculus test with flying colors.
